Practicing Your Faith in the time of Coronavirus

With great sadness,  we announce that Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, the Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday liturgies will not be open to the public.

At the direction of our Bishop Mark Brennan the priests of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston will be celebrating these liturgies in private.

Those preparing for baptism and reception into the Church at Easter will receive the sacraments of initiation at a later date.

The celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation and reception of First Holy Communion are postponed until the virus threat subsides.

Please be united in prayer with all who are desiring the sacraments and please pray for quick end of the Coronavirus.

The distribution of blessed palms, traditionally distributed on Palm (Passion) Sunday, will take place at a later date.

This is a time to remember some fundamentals of Catholic Spirituality

  • Personal Prayer at home with our family members.
  • Reading the Sacred Scriptures.
  • Acts of self denial offered as a spiritual sacrifice for the benefit of others.
  • Devotion to Our Lady such as praying the Rosary.
  • Help those in need.  Remember the “Works of Mercy”   https://tinyurl.com/jry25xf

Msgr. Paul and Fr. Joseph are available for the Sacraments of the Anointing of the Sick and Reconciliation or any personal spiritual matter.

God Bless you and persevere in faith.
