Greenbacks Update

We held out until now….Unfortunately, due to the the recent issues with reopening the state as well as the changing guidelines regarding public/church events – GREENBACKS ’20 has been cancelled.

Our goal is to host a HUGE EVENT in the Spring for the 2020-21 school year when hopefully everything is better and recovered. We plan to honor Father Gary and Mr. Brown Bag and of course… have all of the many wonderful things that we have come to love as part of our GREENBACKS CELEBRATION!! We will post the date as soon as it is decided.

And now….back to Greenbacks ’20…

1. A survey of individuals who usually purchase raffle tickets and attend the event….asked it we can still hold the raffle. We can…but due to the quick thrust of the pandemic…we did not sell/receive back enough tickets to cover the payout and make any profit for our school. Thus, it was suggested to adjust the payout!

 Grand Prize – $2000

5 additional tickets will be drawn …each to receive $500

The tickets will be drawn on Saturday, August 15th, The Feast of the Assumption. This drawing will be Live Streamed at 3:00. Winners will be notified by phone.

2. If you purchased tickets and support this change and want to be a part of the raffle – we will place your tickets in the drawing. There is no need to contact us!

3. If you would like a full refund of your money used to purchase a raffle ticket – please contact John Yelenic…. jyelenic@stvincentschool.org OR (304) 650-6298

4. We greatly appreciate your patience and value your participation to support our St. Vincent de Paul Parish School

5. If you are holding on to tickets – please return the stubs and your money by August 10th. You can do this by mail or drop them off at the parish office.

6. If you would like to purchase additional tickets – please call or text John Yelenic  (304) 650-6298

ALL PROCEEDS WILL BE USED TO PURCHASE NEW COMPUTERS FOR OUR TEACHERS!

This will assist them with online education from home as well as lessons that integrate technology in the classroom!

DINNER TICKETS

1 We will refund all payments for Dinner Tickets AFTER August 15th.

2. If you would like to donate the cost of your tickets directly to the Teacher’s Computer Fund – please contact John Yelenic (jyelenic@stvincentschool.org) or (304-650-6298)

We always look forward to seeing you at Greenbacks! We try to make it bigger and better every year.

Our Purse Sale and Auction Items will be featured this summer at special times to further support our teachers and St. Vincent de Paul Parish School.

VISIT THE BLESSED SACRAMENT IN OUR PARISH COURTYARD.   We have set up a tabernacle and have reserved the Blessed Sacrament in an area visible from our parish courtyard.  This area is open 24/7.

Online Small Groups

Our Small Groups continue to meet for scripture study, prayer and spiritual support.  Many are using the Zoom.us video conferencing service.  To participate you need a computer or smart phone with video camera and an internet connection.  Contact Debbie Davis at info@saintvincentparish.org or Dave Solonika at davidsoloninka5@gmail.com.

This is a time to remember some fundamentals of Catholic Spirituality

  • Personal Prayer at home with our family members.
  • Reading the Sacred Scriptures.
  • Acts of self denial offered as a spiritual sacrifice for the benefit of others.
  • Devotion to Our Lady such as praying the Rosary.
  • Help those in need.  Remember the “Works of Mercy”   https://tinyurl.com/jry25xf

Msgr. Paul and Fr. Joseph are available for the Sacraments of the Anointing of the Sick and Reconciliation or any personal spiritual matter.

God Bless you and persevere in faith.
